The 3-Layer Approach
Interior designers talk about "layering" light — ambient, accent, and task. You don't need an electrician to do this at home; a few plug-in pieces are enough.
Layer 1: Ambient (the base glow)
Something low and warm that stays on for hours — a Himalayan Salt Lamp or a Moon Lamp on a shelf works well here.
Layer 2: Accent (the personality)
Something with more character — a neon sign, or a star projector for nights when you want more of a mood.
Layer 3: Task (for reading or winding down)
A focused, dimmable light near the bed — our Desk & Bedside Lamps collection covers this, with touch-dimming so you're not reaching for a switch.
Putting It Together
You don't need all three running at once — the point is having each layer available so the corner adapts: bright and functional during the day, dim and cozy at night. Start with one piece from each layer and adjust from there.
